Analysis of Langston Hughes.

        Advice for All         Langston Hughes is considered by many readers to be the most prodigious discolour poet of the twentieth century. During his sprightliness many thought that he was a voice of the Afri chiffonier-American people and a primary pillowcase of the magnificence of the Harlem Renaissance. This idea is evident in conscionable active exclusively his rimes including Mother to boy. Here the metaphor of a crystal stair is be used to convey what the mothers breeding has been like. The crystal stair represents a life of glamour and magnificen ce. The mother is telling her son that on that point is no glamour in her life. She says Its had tacks in it, and splinters, and boards torn up, and place with no carpet on the floor--Bare (line 3-7). This represents the hardships that she has had to go through. There harbor been obstacles in her life that she has had to overcome. She besides describes her life as being bare.

She feels as though her life has been plain and in that respect is really nothing in it.
